  • A Fine Wine (barn name: JJ) is a 16.2 hand 11 year old chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. JJ is a training level event packer. He has the scope for preliminary, but would also be perfectly happy doing beginner novice for the rest of his life, and has safely taken a beginnery adult amateur around the beginner novice and novice levels. He is a perfect gentleman to ride in all situations and a great confidence booster over fences, as he is honest and brave. He does all three phases in a plain snaffle and plain noseband. He is glass smooth to ride and excellent to hack out. He is uphill with big bones and feet, and wears only plain front shoes. He is sound and healthy. $15,000. Located in Augusta, WV, 28 miles west of Winchester, VA. 309-376-2144 Please pm, text, or call with inquiries.Contact Katrina or Alyssa Schmitt at (309)376-2144. • Vespasia Polla is a 16.1 1/2 hand 5 year old registered Thoroughbred brown mare. We bred and raised Vespasia for sport, and she has never been to the track. Vespasia has been to six events (two rated). She most recently placed 3rd at Full Moon Horse Trials, and the week before that placed 8th at a starter trial on her dressage score. She is beautifully mannered on or off the farm, under saddle and on the ground. Always sensible, born without a buck, rear or spook. Fantastic jumper, extremely brave with a great natural eye, sharp with her feet. She has never had a cross country penalty. She will jump anything. She goes in a plain noseband, plain snaffle, no martingale for all work. She is sound and healthy and has fantastic, pony like feet, and is an easy keeper. Current on all care, works 3-4 days per week, but is the type of horse you can give two months off and get straight on and she'll be safe as they come. She is no prep at shows; just take her off the trailer and get on. With her good mind, she could make an excellent foxhunter or continue as an eventer. She could also make a good jumper. Her canter still needs more balance, but she is safe and sensible, so pleasant to teach! $10,000. Located in Augusta, WV, 28 miles west of Winchester, VA. 309-376-2144. Please pm, text, or call for details. You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).

  • Music Of The Night (barn name: Matador) is a 16.1 hand 5 year old registered Thoroughbred black stallion. We bred and raised Matador for the sport of eventing, and so he has never trained for the track or raced. Matador has been competing at the BN and Novice levels at rated events. He is a gorgeous jumper with a great eye for the fence. He has an easy/auto lead change. He is very easy to put together in the dressage and has extremely smooth gaits. He has a very soft mouth and naturally balanced canter. His personality is very in-your-pocket and he loves any attention he can get. He is a puppy dog to handle. He has big bones and fantastic feet; they are pony like in quality, and he has never worn a shoe! He is not an ex-racehorse, and thus, does not look like an ex-racehorse. Many people ask us what breed he is at events, and without fail, they are shocked he is a Thoroughbred. He should be gelded for a child to ride. He does all phases in a plain snaffle, plain noseband. He is sound and healthy and adorable! $20,000. Located in Augusta, WV, 28 miles west of Winchester, VA. 309-376-2144 You can also email us at katrina@thanksalotfarm.com (E-mail may be sent to Katrina or Alyssa).

  • Colts Three quality coming two year old colts available! All 3/4 Thoroughbred, 1/4 Hanoverian, registered American Warmbloods. Their names are Vesuvius, Illyrio, and Agony. Vesuvius is the 2017 AWSSR Horse of the Year and high scoring yearling colt in the nation, and Illyrio is second leading yearling colt in the nation. We bred them to event. However, they could excel in other disciplines, as well. All three colts are sired by Ilios, a Hanoverian/Thoroughbred cross. Ilios is sired by Well Said (Aptitude -- Few Choice Words, by Valid Appeal), a Grade 3 stakes placed winner. Well Said is out of a mare who produced multiple steeplechasers and multiple stakes winners. Well Said is a paternal brother to the CCI**** horse, AP Prime. Ilios is out of the Hanoverian mare, Sidnae (Salieri -- Cavalkade, by Cavalier). Sidnae competed through the preliminary level in eventing. Salieri is the sire of the dressage Olympic gold medallist, Salinero, as well as the Olympic show jumper, Seven Up. The dams of the colts are French, Irish and turf bred Thoroughbreds. All colts are bay/brown. All have straight legs and teeth, excellent feet, big bones, and good minds. They are big, strapping colts; presently 15.3 to 16.2 hands (measured), to mature 16.2 to 17.1 hands. They are sound and healthy, current on all care, very friendly, pony nicely, and are saddle/bridle broken, to make them easy to start when it is time for that. They have been raised in a large pasture (45 acres) with a dozen or so other horses, so have had a lot of natural exercise and socialization to set them up for a sound, productive life. $7,500 each.
