Ima Sun Queen (SOLD)
Ima Sun Queen (SOLD)
For sale by owner/trainer Seth Cooley and is located at THANKS A Lot Farm.
SOLD - Ima Sun Queen (barn name: Magdalena), is a 16.1 hand 2010 unraced TB chestnut mare. I started out training her and then purchased her with intention of keeping her for myself. Unfortunately, I need to focus on more commercially valuable projects and already have a forever personal horse, so I have decided to offer her for sale. Magdalena is blind in one eye due to a bout of leptospirosis (that she was treated for), and has had a kissing spine surgery that she has made a full comeback from. I had the opportunity to train Magdalena for quite some time before I bought her. While I was training her, Magdalena was schooling 4' courses with the occasional 4'6" oxer thrown in and jumping around Novice and Training level cross country with myself and a student (all while blind in one eye). She was schooling high level accuracy questions, and working on first level dressage regularly, all while being blind in one eye and having a kissing spine. I then purchased her and have since had the ligament snip surgery performed on her spine (she had very mild kissing spine and it has been fixed by the ligament desmotomy) and she has been fully rehabbed from that and currently is in full work. She is jumping around 2'9" courses (with scope for much more) and schooling Training level dressage in a program while she rebuilds strength. Magdalena is extremely sweet and mild in the pasture and stall. She is at the bottom of the pecking order and does not ever offer to fight. She stalls and loads/hauls well. She is a much more forgiving mount than she used to be, and a quiet, empathetic rider goes a long way with her. She is ideal for a competent amateur or young professional looking for a low priced horse to bring along and have fun with. She currently is sound in front shoes and rim pads, bare behind. Like I said, I wanted to keep her for myself, but have decided to offer her to an ambitious rider (potentially a deserving student in a program with a small budget with ambitions to do something with a horse but cannot afford an animal of this quality or training any other way). Part of the agreement would be that I retain the rights to two viable embryo transfers from the mare. I will be very selective with who she goes too.
